Well this is it. I am standing on the edge looking at the one thing that is keeping me on the hard. Kind of thinking I want some beer for tonight. It has been in the mid 90s in boat. Even with the big fan I bought. So when it cools down I think I am going to pull an engine like I did when younger. Have some cold beer and stay up until it is done. Here is what it looks like right now
I did get the new stereo in today. It had the old style with two knobs and a slot for cassette tapes( I remember when those were the hot new setup). It wasn't to difficult to pull out old stereo and cut new hole, just time consuming. It was the rats nest of wires that had to be fixed. I am not sure why the old stereo ever worked.
So I took out the several feet of wire and the many, many connectors of all kinds. Soldered new stuff in and made a permanent professional job of it. I have not got the amp and the bigger speakers installed yet. I will. I know I won't have a lot of use for the big setup but I will sure enjoy in going down the intracoastal this fall, as well as the trip back up in the spring. I have decided, tv makes me lethargic. I spent to many years laid up watching it. I learned to like it. However, when I have things that need done, music rocks my little world. No matter what it is. Of course I left a fortune in cd's in storage.
At 7pm. it is still 91 in boat. I think by the time I walk over and get some beer it will be in the 80's. Just about perfect for pulling an engine. Some day soon I will have time to start writing my book. More on that later. The music is working its magic and it is time to go to work. I will have the engine out and in the cockpit before Tidewater yacht service opens in the Morning.
Dave - We are totally enjoying reading your blog and following along on your journey :-) Continue to keep us up with what you are doing - we'll meet you on the intercoastal at some point. Your dedication is so admirable - wish I had the dedication you have to getting yourself in shape.
