Another day on the books. I still have not found the serial numbers on engine. The guy at Kubota told me they could be anywhere on the block. I will finish taking off flywheel and get penetrating oil on motormount bolts tomorrow. I have got to get this thing going. Hot again today. It gets hotter in boat than out. According to thermometer. I only got 3 hrs sleep until it got in the mid 90's. My place is a wreck.
So you might ask. Do I keep nuts and bolts seperate as I go? How do I figure out what went where? Well before I got hurt I would just look at the next piece going on and see how many bolts/nuts it took. Find the ones that had about that many and put it together. You can see I will be relying on that again. Yes. Occasionally I have pondered bigger projects that were apart for quite a while and wondered if I could. All you do is put it together one piece at a time. :-)
So I am getting nowhere with engine. I know I am tired so I pick a job That takes less thought. Oh I am still thinking about engine but sometimes the best thing you can do is leave a problem alone for a bit. I get wrapped up in my projects so I forget about pictures. I hanging sails and about half way through I have a Dave picnic. A can of beans, can of pineapple and glass of water. I know. I have a garbage gut but until I find a nice gal who thinks my diet is important, I will still have these kinds of meals. I really am doing better. Sometimes the picnics would be a couple big bowls of ice cream. The frozen nectar of the gods, or evil incarnate. I can't be sure.
Half way through and just finishing picnic. I am sweating but still have a dry spot or two left at this point.
I even put up a little shade for the cockpit. Maybe taking a break there will be cooler. I would have given you another after picture but you are starting to get the idea. When I take clothes off to shower I am sure I could at least wring my shirts out. The shorts look like I have big accidents everyday. I drink lots of water and try to get enough salt but I just sweat it out. I talked to old friend Barbara a while ago and she said at least I am doing what I want. Hah :-) working on boat is not what I want. I cleaned up and came back to boat. My back is pissed at me for the engine thing. I actually had to take something. I do occasionally. I just don't have to if I am not overdoing it. It will sure be nice to just relax and enjoy being on the water.
I will be out there soon. Watch and see. I do well when the occasion calls for it. I always have. If nothing else it will come down to sheer will power and I will not be denied. It is almost 2am. I better get some sleep.
Hang in there :-) Remember to look back every once in a while to see the progress you have made to this point! Know what you meant about figuring out how something goes back together - I finally had to resort to taking 'before' pictures! What a memory I used to have .....
